Our Story

Not an off-the-shelf product
with our name on it

Belle Cheveu is a head spa salon founded in Tokyo in July 2006. We don't do haircuts, color or perms. We only do head spa, and for 20 years most of our guests have been people who live here.

We developed Belle Faveur for our Doctor Scalp Course. Drawing on years of working with our guests' scalps every day, we decided how it should feel and which ingredients to include, then worked with a cosmetics manufacturer in Japan through many rounds of samples until it was right.

Why Belle Faveur

Why people choose Belle Faveur

  • Developed by a 20-year head spa specialist

Since 2006, Belle Cheveu has focused on scalp and hair as Japan's first head spa salon*. The know-how of a salon featured in over 100 media went into one bottle.

  • Ingredients we could choose as a cosmetic

As a cosmetic, we were free to choose what went in. It contains 13 moisturizing ingredients, including sh-Oligopeptide-1 (EGF), soy and kudzu plant extracts, hyaluronic acid and collagen.

  • 30 seconds, morning and night

Apply about 10 sprays to your scalp and massage in with your fingertips. Simple enough for busy mornings.

  • A discreet bottle

Deep burgundy with a gold pattern, it looks like a cosmetic. On your bathroom shelf, no one will guess it's scalp care.

  • For men and women

Hair concerns aren't just for women or just for men. Couples and families can share one bottle.

  • Made at a cosmetics factory in Japan

Produced at a quality-controlled factory in Japan. Free of parabens, mineral oil and artificial colors.

*Founded in July 2006 as a salon dedicated exclusively to head spa, with no haircuts, color or perms (our own research).

Ingredients we could choose because it's a cosmetic

In Japan, "quasi-drug" hair products must contain government-approved ingredients in set amounts. Belle Faveur is a cosmetic. Within Japan's standards for cosmetics, we were free to choose the ingredients we wanted to use in the salon, and refined the formula through many samples.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you ship to my country?

We ship to most countries through WorldShopping. Because Belle Faveur contains alcohol, a few countries may not accept it. WorldShopping checks this when you order.

How much is shipping, and how long does it take?

It depends on your country and the shipping method. WorldShopping shows the fees before you pay.

Who do I contact about delivery problems?

Please contact WorldShopping customer support for anything about delivery, tracking, customs or damage in transit. They answer in English.

I'm visiting Japan. Can you deliver to my hotel?

Yes. Please note that while you are in Japan, the WorldShopping cart does not appear and our shop's checkout is in Japanese only. Your browser's translate feature (for example in Chrome or Safari) can help you through it.

For the delivery address, copy your hotel's address in Japanese from its website or your booking confirmation. Add your full name and check-in date after the hotel name so the front desk can hold the parcel for you.

Leave enough time for delivery before you check out, and let your hotel know a parcel is coming.

Will I have to pay import duties?

Duties and taxes depend on your country's rules. Please check with your local customs office.

Is it the same as a quasi-drug hair product?

In Japan, "quasi-drug" hair products must contain government-approved ingredients in set amounts. Belle Faveur is a cosmetic, so within Japan's standards for cosmetics we could choose the ingredients ourselves. With use in our salon's hair growth head spa in mind, we selected ingredients such as sh-Oligopeptide-1 (EGF), soybean seed extract, kudzu root extract and algae extract.

Can men use it?

Yes. It is for men and women, so couples and families can share it.

How long does one bottle last?

About one month, using about 10 sprays morning and night.

Is it made in Japan?

Yes. It is produced at a cosmetics factory in Japan.

How long should I keep using it?

Scalp care is about daily habit. Make it part of your morning and night routine, like brushing your teeth.

What does it smell like?

A fresh floral scent, mainly lavender.

I don't want my family to know I'm using scalp care

The bottle looks like a cosmetic, so it won't stand out on your bathroom shelf.

What if it doesn't suit my skin?

Do not use it if your scalp is irritated. If you notice redness, swelling, itching or irritation, stop using it and consult a dermatologist.

Can I try it at your salon?

We use it in the Doctor Scalp Course, our hair growth head spa. Every guest who receives this course takes home a free bottle.
